Registered Migration Agent (RMA)

About the Role

A Registered Migration Agent provides professional immigration advice and assistance to clients seeking visas and other migration outcomes under Australian migration law. The role involves preparing, submitting, and managing visa applications and representing clients in dealings with the Department of Home Affairs and relevant tribunals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Consultation & Assessment
    • Assess clients’ circumstances to determine visa eligibility.
    • Provide accurate advice on options, processes, and risks.
    • Develop customised strategies in line with current law and policy.
  2. Visa Application Preparation
    • Prepare and lodge Skilled, Partner, Student, and Employer-Sponsored visas.
    • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submissions.
    • Liaise with clients to gather supporting documents and manage expectations.
  3. Liaison & Representation
    • Communicate with the Department of Home Affairs, AAT, and other authorities.
    • Represent clients in appeals or compliance matters.
  4. Compliance & Legal Knowledge
    • Stay current with Australian immigration law and policy changes.
    • Adhere to the Migration Agents Code of Conduct; maintain confidentiality.
    • Manage case files and ensure OMARA reporting compliance.
  5. Recordkeeping & Administration
    • Maintain detailed records of interactions, progress, and documentation.
    • Ensure all files meet OMARA standards.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of Australian migration law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities; attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple client matters simultaneously
  • Hindi proficiency (required); other Indian languages an advantage
  • Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and client-focused service

Qualifications & Registration

  • Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law & Practice (mandatory)
  • Successful completion of the Capstone Assessment
  • Current OMARA registration with valid MARN
